Homemade Christmas

22 12 2008

img_0232I admit that we are a household of gas guzzlers. Ken with his 4WD Tundra and me with my 4WD Sequoia rode out the atrocious months of paying $450 a month to fill our tanks, as well as continuing to pay $300 plus for electricity. So this Christmas, I challenged our family to make gifts.

Besides the shirts that Ahiʻs making (see the blurb in 808 Ink), Ken has been the busy little elf concocting one sinful goody after another. It started earlier this month with making laulaus, then it moved on to homemade truffles, peanut butter fudge, and above, these onolicious dark chocolate  fudge morsels with salt and pepper pistachios.

Since I am trying to stay true to my Weight Watchers point counting, I finally had to figure out the points for Kenʻs fudge (especially after I ate 4 of them one late night). So, one piece of fudge = 240 calories and a whopping 5 points. Hey, Christmas comes only once a year, and I donʻt weigh in again until January 6th, so maybe . . .just one more.
