As a little Christmas trip, and as a birthday get together with Isaac, the five Ikedas, plus 2 girlfriends, Mom, Dad and Becky all took some time off after Christmas and drove through the pouring rain and flooding of Hamakua to get to the Hilton Grand Vacation Club at Waikoloa Beach for some rest, relaxation, paddle boarding and hanafuda tournament time. Mom cooked two dinners, we went to Starbucks every night and Jae came by after work every night to play cards with the boys, give them paddle board tips and leave one of his boards and paddles. The picture above is the master bedroom with the large jacuzzi and the huge glass shower with the five shower heads. It was really amazing how many people we fit into a 6 person maximum 2-bedroom condo. Thanks Hilton. It’s been really nice to get all the family together and hang out. We had access to the Hilton Waikoloa pools so the kids and Jae did that one afternoon too. The only people we were missing were the Molinas who were somewhere in Hilo visiting with Byron’s parents and their friends.
We head out tomorrow, but today we also were joined by the Tokunagas who brought their two paddle boards and we all hung out at “A” Bay or Anaeho’omalu Bay. I hope these are memories that will stay with the boys long after Ken and I are gone.
